Why is that girls go nuts when to they go to college.?

i know a good amount of girls in HS who changed completely when i look at there facebook photos. There humpin dudes, and getting hyphy. But what the hell? they werent like that before.

Yep. Happens everywhere. I know fully well what you're saying.





But there's a good line from Aeschylus' /Prometheus Bound/ that applies. Oceanos comes to the craggy rock where Prometheus is chained as punishment for offending Zeus. Among other conversation, he says to his friend:





"Your own misfortune, Prometheus, is my teacher."





That is to say, the example of your friends, whether male or in this case female, can at times be so poor that it arrests your conscience into learning what it is that you should avoid. In this regard, it can be a potential form, however unfortunately arrived at, of your own improvement.
Reply:They are excited about being "independent" and finally considered somewhat an adult. Is like they entered a new world where they can finally do what they want to do.





In reality, they're not thinking like adults still but obviously they won't accept it. As a senior now I can tell the difference between freshman and people with more years of college studies. Give them some time and all that rage will subside to a more neutral and adult way of behaving and thinking, at least it should ;-)
Reply:its not just girls its guys as well..or shall i say the guys just get worse...i personally think its because college is just so much freedom!! .. most of the times people go out of state//or at least out of the city..away from parents(and family) and just feel they can do things they have always wanted to but couldn't because of people back home. and most of them are finally 18 and can go out to clubs and just get drunk (whether they are 21 or not)

Reply:They haven't actually changed, their parents might have kept them locked in the house, and when they got to college on their on, they realized they can finally party like they want to and so that's how they relieve themselves from being locked up so long, but sooner or later, it will get old and you wont see that type of behavior in them as much.

Reply:Bad environment with no supervision. Most likely these girls are very easily-influenced and easily pressured to do crazy things. The only thing that stopped them from doing this in high school was that it was harder for them to get away with (i.e. their parents stopped them). Or they are just a product of their environment. If they were good girls in high school, maybe all their friends were good girls and they wanted to fit in. Or it was the popular thing to do. Now all their college friends are crazy, and being crazy is the cool thing to do. You'll find that people with strong and unique personalities tend to stay the same or improve because they are not easily-pressured by other people to do stupid sh1t. Now when drugs and alcohol are thrown into the mix, that's another thing entirely.
