Is it illegal for me to retain the online proofs of my photo magic college senior pictures?

I was able to view the proofs online, but it was not possible to save them onto my desktop...so...I just held Ctrl+ PrtSc to print the screen with each of the pictures, then saved them using Windows paint, and in this way I got a "copy" of all 22 pictures onto my desktop. But all of them have that proof logo on them, so it is not like they are real "pictures" like I would get if I ordered them anyway...so I just want to know if it is legal for me to have these saved proofs? Because I was going to upload them on facebook, and I don't want to get in trouble. Keep in mind that I did not have to pay for the photo shoot.

Reply:Since the photo studio retains the copyrights to all images they take, yes, you are stealing. I believe the fine is $10,000...so you must decide if it is worth it.
Reply:well I work for a photography company.. and we're told that WE own the photos until you purchase them.. So I think technically you are stealing them.. even though they're photos of you, but I'm not sure if the photography company would even take legal action, cause numerous people do that type of thing. So long story short, I would say yes.
