Saw this neck piercing today , very odd .?

saw a college girl on facebook today who had the back of her neck pierced with a barbell . one of the first times i'd seen such a piercing . as a guy i fail to understand what it would do or be for.





so why would some very normal looking girl pierce the back of her neck ? and what is this piercing called or intended to do ?

its called a nape piercing (surface piercing) its not intended for anything just looks. Most piercings are only for aesthic value anyways. she probably saw it and got it done! not everythign needs to be done for a reason. reality is you can get anythgin pierced these days. clavical, sternum, etc.
Reply:I dunno the official name but odd places are becoming common places for piercings now. Its just all about expressing themselves or trying to be cool. It does nothing but make people go "wtf?" or "ooh cool i want one"

idk what there called and have never seen anyone with one but it sounds ugly.

I got them because they're beautiful. I've had hundreds (yes, literally hundreds) of other people agree with me by complementing them over the years I have had them.





These piercings are intended to be pretty. Just beause a girl is "normal looking" does not mean she only finds pink polo shirts and glitter visually appealing. She got it pierced because she liked the way it looked and wanted one for herself.





I've seen several guys with nape piercings as well, and no it did not look particularly feminine.

that the barbell isnt actually a barbell


it is shaped like " |___| " and had the balls on the ends!
