How do i change my birthdate (year) on facebook?!!! pls help!!!?
There is no way of doing this - you would probably be better off closing your account and making a new one. They seem to have locked the birth dates in place so as to avoid any of the issues with MySpace (adults contacting kids), etc. You could also try contacting them and seeing if they would be sympathetic to changing it on their end.

College student judicial hearing?

so i stole this guys password to access the internet (my account was inactive at the time), i'm not a bad guy...but i messed up and thats not the point. the point is, i have a hearing (a school hearing). i don't go to a ivy league or extremely strict zero tolerance school so i dont expect anything major to happen, i'm writing an opening statement. can someone read it? second (the more important issue)...ok so the guy who submitted the case works in the schools comp lab. he knows the witness (the guy who's password i took) and it seems they're friends. i really know nothing about law in general so is that ok?since this isn't a state issue and simply a school thing i didn't bother with a lawyer (that'd be ridicuous) but the "prosecutor" who works in the lab has been talking to the guy through facebook and wrote "Thanks Dave! I'm going after your guy on the 4th." even though he told me this is just a neccesary process and no one was out to get me. is that something i should bring up?

There appears to be no quick answer to your question.

If your opening statement is too long to post here, then it's too long. Rewrite it and cut out anything that isn't entirely necessary.

Why did you steal access to an internet account? Why was your own access inactive? And what harm came of your theft? Did you send nasty emails? Access areas of the internet that are banned in the school library? Or what? Knowing the extent of your "crime" would help to give you advice about where to go with this.

Also, what "punishment" can you expect from the school? There should be a code of conduct and an explicit list of disciplinary measures that go with it.

Without knowing more, it's hard to give you a good answer.

That the victim knows the computer guy isn't prejudicial to your case-- since they didn't get together to make it up-- as you're actually guilty.

However, where the "prosecutor" has some ulterior motive in addressing the case, you should ask for someone else to be the "prosecutor" and ask for leniency in light of that information.

Given that your "crime" was not all that terrible-- simply accessing the internet via another users account-- nothing should happen except an administrative notation in your record. You should know, however, that it's dishonest things like stealing someone else's password that lead people to believe (often correctly) that a person is capable of doing worse-- more illegal activities. That's the real harm you did yourself here.

Hopefully you weren't just using someone else's account because you wanted to look at porn. Tell them you needed the internet for academic purposes (if true) and that you thought that was a harmless way to get access-- especially when you'd go back to using your own account afterwards.

If you were accessing porn or downloading music illegally (the only two reasons I can think for you using so much bandwith to get your own account suspended-- as you explained in a separate message), then just focus on how you thought it was harmless.

And don't do it-- or anything like it-- again. Because now you are suspect. And a repeat of such conduct will almost surely indicate you're someone who can't be trusted.

Desperate: I am starting college and I want to change my hairstyle! Any and all suggestions are welcome!?

I don't want to cut my hair too short, because it tends to grow out slowly. I was thinking layers: long ones? short ones? in the front of the hair? in the back?

I am a college freshwoman and i like this junior college guy.....?

Ok..so i liked him for 2 weeks...(some turn offs)..hehe

he's really handsome, cute, tall (6'4"), a vegetarian and yeah...he's a judgmental meanie..

i am not saying i tried to stalk him or anything but i found him on facebook and added him...saw his aim and i added it...but!

well, it's been a week now that we've been chatting online (he's in my tennis class btw--%26gt; which will end next tuesday)..anyway, it just seems like whenever i talk to him, he just replies by saying somewhat offensive names like "you're strange", "you're a crazy a-s-s", "you laugh a lot", "u talk about weird stuff"...i did not want to sound like i'm desperate so I just added him and tried to befriend him in AIM

AND!...yesterday, i noticed him spit on the ground by the tennis court--%26gt; big TURN OFF even though i know he won't like me because i believe he only likes white, tall, pretty girls who can actually wear short shorts (i couldn't bec. i have big thighs and scars on my leg...4'11", 140 lbs girl)

I am a college freshwoman and i like this junior college guy.....?
Dont chase people who dont like you. Give up on him. You are only giving him so much lift. Next time you see him, look the other way, pretend he is invisible. The more you chase people the more they will run far. And dont under estimate your self%26gt; you may not have the height and colour but God has given you a load of other talent, so make the best of it and shine. You are the best always, dont bother what others think or say. Believe in yourself and love and respect yourself and care about yourself and your education and career. Men are not worth it.They are all willy heads. They will use and abuse you and dump you.

I am addicted to internet - email, messengers, facebook, forums etc... how do i fix that?

so i am a college student, and i am badly addicted to internet. i am sure you or someone close to you has been through it, how do i come out of it? please dont suggest pretty obvious things like "oh dont go on internet blah blah" be reasonable

I am addicted to internet - email, messengers, facebook, forums etc... how do i fix that?
Don't worry about it. Really...

Many people spend long stretches of time on the internet (the web). They haven't turned into dust or disappeared - they've merely begun to form relationships with other people using this new medium.

Before the web, telephone chat lines, where groups of strangers would call and talk to one another (and pay $!) was a popular trend. So was mailing strangers and forming pen pals, long ago. People spent a hell of a lot of time in those hobbies. So, the internet is just another phase of the electronic means to foster communication. Use it as much as you like.

However, like many people have found out - sharing on the web is fun, but keep it varied. Try going to coffee shops and using their machines (when you're feeling well). Or, invite people over to your room to have a LAN party, with some games to choose from. Anything to vary the scene a bit.

If you're going to spend so much time online, try to realize that all that time you're using up is finite. Your life will not give you that day, those years, and your time back. So, if you blow your early 20's farting around online, someday you may regret it.

At times when I was young, I was bed-bound for months at a time. I learned to speed read, sketch, write stories, and program computers. Today, I make a good living with the programming, and still stay creative other ways. You can use the forced-focus you have being sick to explore a lot about yourself - don't poo-poo non-computer things like books until you have walked the full mile in them.
Reply:Fill in the extra computer time you use and do volunteer work, get a part-time job, or do whatever, even watch TV!!
Reply:well set the computer aside for awile. don't pay for internet. delete myspace and other accounts. it isn't really a physical addiction only mental or probably in your case emotions try getting a girlfriend. go out more often hang out with friends occupy your time with something else
Reply:Turn off the computer and find other ways to enjoy life.
Reply:Ha! Wish I knew. I am also an addict. I try to get outside more and make a point of walking the dog but I love email and shopping and so forth

My husband is an addict to internet too we have side by side computers - don't laugh
Reply:Simply fill you life with other activity. Work out or something.. Heck, Have sex. It's a great workout.
Reply:Get yourself a sweetheart. Gay? Straight? Whatever you're into! Then you'll have better things to do than be on the computer all the time.

You sound content with staying on the internet, and there's even a site where you can just pop virtual bubble wrap! (No kidding - you can look up bubble wrap on the web and click your mouse to pop it!)
Reply:get a really uncomfortable chair...
Reply:NEVER TOUCH THE MOUSE AND KEYBOARD!!!!! RUN AWAY FROM THEM LIKE A SISSY!

How do i add a network on facebook?

Ok i wanna join the network for my college UNLV, but it says i have to enter the email for that school, but there is like a bunch of emails for UNLV, and then i read you have to enter your email for that school. So am i supposed to create an email at UNLV first, I dont know how

How do i add a network on facebook?
When you enrolled in UNLV you were given an email address. Use that one.
Reply:If you are enrolled at UNLV, they most likely have issued a school sponsored email address for you. This was probably done when you registered for classes the first time.

Should I delete one of my facebook friend?

I added her 4 months ago and couple times she said she would meet me however she does not and she always as an excuse not to meet me. I feel that even though people claim they are busy they would make time for who they want to meet even if it involves putting back something important college work, other chores.

Should I delete one of my facebook friend?
Dump her.
Reply:No, that's stupid. I have several people I have fallen out with on my Facebook. It just makes a bad situation worse. Just stop talking to it.
Reply:WHAT THE HELL GET A LIFE!!
Reply:don't just delete her. if you want to make the friendship work, talk to her about it. maybe she REALLY is busy. just tell her you feel like you are being neglected. and ask her why? is it something she wants to avoid about you? is she just careless? then if she gets upset or ignores you, then take deleting action.
Reply:do you know her very well?\\

i think that you should give her another chance, and if you really dont feel confident about her, then yep, delete away!
Reply:Go ahead, I guess. However, if you're in a line or going to be in a line where networking would be most useful, then I'd suggest you don't do that. Instead, try to keep in touch no matter how annoying it may get.
Reply:why not, will she email you and say am not your freind anymore.

properbly a chick with a dik, your best mate fu*kin about or its your little sisters best mate who has a crush on you.

get some real people freinds in the real world

Reply:idk, i would never meet anybody from the internet, but that's me. it's really your choice if you wanna delete her, do you still like to talk to her or not?
Reply:It looks like you never actually met her, so why add her and want to meet her? Kind weird to meet someone through facebook
Reply:Either way it doesn't really matter. If you met her on facebook, its no biggie if she doesnt want to meet up with you- you dont know her anyways. And if its a friend from school, well at least shes still keeping in contact with you via internet. Thats more than I can say for some of the people that "friend" me from high school. they never spoke to me in high school, found me on facebook where they still dont talk to me, even when i try to start teh conversation by sending a comment.

If shes at least talking to you, I say just leave her keep chatting. unless your really offended by her not wanting to meet up then go for and DELETE!
Reply:Well, it doesn't cost you anything to leave here there. Might want to wait a while and see if she asks you to meet.

I know when I was in college between practice, work, and school I barely had time to sleep.
Reply:You're going to delete a friend because they won't meet you?

You shouldn't be randomly meeting up from people on the internet anyway...?!
Reply:Dude. She is obviously not into you. Otherwise, she would make time.

Your time is valuable. Don't waste any more on her! Move on. Find one that is interested in YOU. (Much, much more fun.)
Reply:what ru talking about? who cares take her off the list or leave her there what does it matter?
Reply:no cause den u may need her for somthing
Reply:I say give her a litte more time, and if she doenst come around, I say delete her.
Reply:Your right if she wanted to meet you she would have.

Delete her.
Reply:Do you actually know this person in real life?

If not, just dump them. They wouldnt be that important. You deserve people in your life that are there for you and follow through with what they say.
Reply:maybe she is being nice and saying she will meet you just so she doens't hurt your feelings
Reply:Did you just add her without knowing her first hand? If so, then yeah I would dump her if I were you. Especially if she is miles away from you.

EDIT:

Or just get over the fact that she isn't going to visit you.
Reply:well tell her that you're mad at her and you wonder why she is acting like this.. Maybe she has a reason too. Don't throw away your friendship unless she continues to be like this
Reply:she is probably thinking your a perv or something so shes scared. dont worry about it. she just has a safety issue

On my Facebook profile, my networks do not show up above the basic information?

rejoin the network or go to settings.

Should i delete my ex from facebook?!?

My ex (of almost 2 months now) are of course broken up. over the thanksgiving break he started messing with another girl. She is now coming home for winter break (college). I want to delete my ex from facbeook so that i wont have to see any pictures or comments from her on his wall.

Is this selfish or childish of me?

and if I do so, i want to atleast leave him a message saying its nothing personal i just dont want to see these types of things, if they occur (because they do often)

Me and my ex are still friends, we talk every now and then. He does (confusingly enough) still say that he wants to work on us, but it would take time and patience.

What should i do and how should i go about this?

Should i delete my ex from facebook?!?
This doesn't make any sense to me........

He has another girlfriend, but says he wants to work things out with you.

What I see him wanting out of this is a convenient Friends With Benefits type relationship with you.

Any guy that cheats on you should be considered a loser.

There's no need to continue a friendship or anything else. If you got back with him, then he'd probably cheat again and again.

So is your self-esteem worth the pain and anger that he causes? I really hope you said no.
Reply:Why would you want to befriend someone who disrespected you? If your best friend lied to you, hurt you, %26amp; still wanted to "be friends" would you trust her? How can any one person "work" on us?? I think he'd have to work on hisself %26amp; hope that he gets his act together so that he doesn't repeat the cheating process in the future with other women.

Delete Delete Delete! You owe him nothing!! No explaination... Get rid of him %26amp; move on!
Reply:Whatever gave you the idea that you need to explain anything to your ex? Delete him and let him come to his own conclusions as to why you refuse to ever have contact with him again.
Reply:Yea you totally need to delete him, it's too tempting to look and then MAN DOES IT HURT...........OUCH!!!!!
Reply:It is a good idea..that way she also cannot see yours. It is the best way to avoid any confrontation.
Reply:Of course you should delete him. You should also learn the facts of life:

1. There is no Santa

2. There might be a Bigfoot

3. All men cheat, almost all women cheat

4. Marriage ruins all relationships (moving in is the same)

5. Everyone lies (you even lie to yourself)

6. Life is not fair

Good luck and Happy Holidays. Email me

if you want to hear the truth. I don't lie.

I can't join a facebook network?

I'm in college now, but I'd like to join the network of my high school, which I graduated from last year, but when I come to its site, it says "The content on this Network page is restricted to members of this network only. Only current high school students can join high school networks."

I've tried cheating it by removing my college info in education, but it didn't work... So, is there a way to join it?

I can't join a facebook network?
no, i don't think so. the thing about networks, especially high school ones, is that you can see everyone else's profiles. (in that network) but i've heard that grownups can't see children's profiles, and vice versa, i think it's to maintain some level of security or something.

so, no. unless you create a second profile
Reply:no sorry they just dont want people clogging networks
Reply:it's because your not in high school so you can't join anymore. Once your out of that place, you can no longer be in that network

How do i join a new facebook network?

i just got into college and i want to join that network

Has anyone had trouble registering for facebook?

Everytime i try to login it's giving me problems. When I registered they, asked for my email at my college address. I tried to register for high school but i got an email saying that graduates cannot register. Has anyone been in the same situation? Can you still search for graduates on that website?

Has anyone had trouble registering for facebook?
well, you are probably just entering a bad age, if you are still in high school, enet your age, it might ask you to be invited by someone, but it might not. if you are in collage, you should just give your own email adress and if that doesn't work, you shoud ask a firned to give their adress to you

i wouldnt consider it normally but i go to a huge college and dont really have any other way to get into contact with her unless i bump into her randomly

Is asking someone out on facebook a nono?
The girl would be impressed if you asked her in person, trust me.

Make the time and effort to find her.

Perhaps message her asking to talk to her at college, so you arrange a time to meet and then ask her out.

I think she would really like it if you had the guts to ask her in person.

Don't you HAVE to be in one of the high schools or colleges listed? Why don't you just try using myspace.com or tagworld.com?
Reply:I believe you have to join using an e-mail address associated with a university or company that Facebook recognizes. They recognize a lot, but are still adding to their list and you can make a request if they don't currently have your organization listed. If you're not associated with either a university or company, chances are you won't be able to sign up for the time being.

contact facebook customer service and then change your number!
Reply:This is why everyone that is on a social network like myspace or facebook should get a contact ringto number from www.ringtonumber.com. It would protect your privacy and still get phone calls when it is convenient. If it gets breached, it's much easier to change than your cell phone. Report It

In the Education portion, it says High School, College and University and it also says Concentration. What's a concentration?

On Facebook, in my "Education" profile, what does Concentration mean?
concentration would be the term for what you are studying in school, MAJOR. If this is a high school account put general studies or leave it blank and college well you know what your major is...again if you dont have a major write general study
Reply:I would imagine it is referring to what you plan on studying. Your major in other words.

Facebook will let people who are 13 or older, but under 18, to register only for a high school network. If you want to register without that, you have to be 18.

If you know what high school you're going to go to, just register under that school.

He took my address to get DHL to pick it up, and than he was going to send me a fat check and than he wanted me to take what he owed me and send the change back to Beinn Republic or something like that by western union. sounds fishy doesn't i? or am i just being paranoid?

SCAM? i am on facebook and this guy from Nigiera wanted to go through a lot?
sounds very fishy and yes you should be very paranoid. In my opinion people are just not that trusting to agree to send money to strangers they meet on the internet. So if him/her is too willing to send you a check for a book that you may not even send to him/her then know that you are being scammed and run
Reply:He's trying to get your account number somehow. He'll have your name, address, and checking account no. This equals big scam! Just don't do business with him. Tell him you changed your mind.
Reply:Scam.

High school girls facebook says shes in an Open Relationship..what does this mean?

Im not exactly sure what an open relatitonship means and i really like this girl i think she likes me too but i do know shes real close with a guy who is off at college...

High school girls facebook says shes in an Open Relationship..what does this mean?
When people say "open relationship," they usually mean that they are in a relationship, but not exclusive. So they are "open" to dating other people too. If you don't mind not being exclusive with her, you could have a lot of fun together. Why don't you ask her directly if she's interested in going out sometime? Good luck!
Reply:open relationship means that she is in a relationship but is open to play the field meaning that she is not serious about her current relationship so go ahead and try your luck.
Reply:like you are in a relationship with someone but you guys are free to date other people.

Oh...i did something stupid on facebook =( and now it's coming back to bite me. what do i do??

so i was searching for people to add when a whole bunch of my crushes popped up from high school (i was in my first year of college)

so i decided to message one of them. i messaged him twice before he actually messaged back and we msged back and fourth but i could kinf of get the feeling he was just msg'ing back to be nice.

anyway he stopped msg'ing after i decided to write on his wall. one year later i delte him from my friends list. i'm on the street after the train and there are 2 guys ahead. one of them is looking back and smiling/laughing. it kind of bugged me that it might be him but i let it go becausae i thought i was going crazy.

the next week i'm ready to leave the train ahead when i see these two guys talking and i can totally tell it's him and high tail back and exit the back way. i ran down the street and to my bus stop.

i love my college, he goes there too. i don't want to be afraid of running into him. wnat do i say to him if i run into him?

Ahhhhh

Oh...i did something stupid on facebook =( and now it's coming back to bite me. what do i do??
Just say hi to him. He doesn't know about all that stuff that was going on in your head and that you ran the other way when you saw him on the train. Even if he did see you, as far as he knows, it could have been because you were in a hurry and the other way looked faster to you. Yeah, just say hi to him and ask him how he's been.
Reply:dont worrie just explain why you did what you did im sure hill understand as a guy i know we dont really give that kinda stuff a secound thought.
Reply:so wutsz the question.... thisz doesnt really make sense...
Reply:umm you just say HI and act like nothing is wrong. Its no big deal talking to people from the past and running into them in the future... Take a deep breath in and exhale out because you are making this into a bigger deal. If you run into him just be like oh hey... I thought I recognized you on the train or something and see what he says. No biggie! Your older than you were in high school and more mature to be able to handle this!
Reply:why should you delete him? and what are you trying to say? uh!
Reply:"Hello." Then keep walking.
Reply:how about hi how are you?? just a thought

High school on facebook?

im in college, and it wont let me join the network of my high school. how can i join the high school network?

High school on facebook?
if you are in college, you can't go to you high school network. this is because you have already graduated from that school and you can only be in one network at a time. the only way to go back to your high school network is to leave the college one that you are in and add your high school again. but once you add your high school. facebook does not let you switch back to your college network for 6 weeks.
Reply:it should work...
Reply:Go the 'home' and on the tab at the top, click down on 'network' and click 'join a network'. Type in the network name and just join it? I mean it worked for me..
Reply:umm srry im writing 2 u on ur answer but u dont except emails n i really wanted to know what year was ur wrangler?? cuz i am really interested in geting one and i would like to know before i invest $14,000 or more in something thats not gonna last for several years.. thanks!!!!

I want more Facebook friends. How do I add them?

All of my friends have like 768, 849, 1038 friends. I want that amount too but I only know personally 150 or so people at my college. How do I add more friends that I don't know?

I want more Facebook friends. How do I add them?
I can never understand why people do that. So I joined the group against it.
Reply:"How do I add more friends that I don't know?"

I can't put my finger on what is weird about that sentence...
Reply:Having so many friends online that you don't know them isn't the way to go, just have people that are your FRIENDS, that's the point of that. I honestly feel bad for the people with 1,000,000 friends on myspace and facebook, because they probably have 2 real friends out of those
Reply:Why would you want a lot of people you don't know on your facebook? All you do is search through the profiles with the search tool and add people you recognize from classes or work or whatever and add them even if they are not your friends. At least then you have something in common. Or you can look for people that have similar interests. All you do is ask for their friendship, if they accept, cool.
Reply:Well, if you really want that, then browse through your networks and that way you can find more people that are at your school.

Problems signing up to facebook?
You dont have to do it through the school/college network. Sign up through the normal network.

In the checkbox asking you "You are in : " Dont click on school/college, click on none. After this, you can sign up using your regular email id.

You better sign up for facebook fast cos its addictive and I spend 3-4 hours daily online on facebook!!!!

I HATE THIS STUPID WEBSITE ALREADY. I try to register and it tells me that "There is no college network for this email address. Please double-check your email address or click here to request to add your network." What the hell does that even mean? Of course there is no college network for my email address! It is my own email address, not the college's. What the hell are they talking about?! ARGH!! What on earth am I supposed to do?

I'm sorry for ranting - but people say that it is better than Myspace and that makes me want to punch holes in cinder-block walls - look how difficult it is to register!!

I am trying to register on Facebook. Can anybody help me?
all u actually have to do is join a certain network..they want u to be in ur school's, but all u have to do is keep ur email, and join the network of ur city.

for ex, if u live in chicago, type in that network, and u should be able to make ur facebook..

i made a new one for my older sister who had the same problem, and this seemed to work...!

and dont hate facebook!!! %26lt;3 itt!! its awesomee....

good luck!
Reply:it's looking for a network that's in its list with your college name; which is after the @ sign in your email address.

Probably no-one from your college has used their college email address to sign up so no network like this exists.

You don't have to join a network straight away if you don't want to
Reply:maybe theres somthing wrong with ya email adress dude..try logging onto hotmail or yahoo and create urself a new adress there..then just sign up with facebook man..its super simple..you just click on the sign up button, would you like me to point it out for u? :)

FaceBook on Mac?

I got a Macbook Pro abut 2 months ago and I love it. However, my sister got a macbook for college (at least in part at my suggestion) and it uploads photos SLOWLY. Like a minute or 2 Per photo... To upload a 59 hoto album took wll over an hour. Very strange cause on our 5 year old windows pc it takes about 5 minutes.

Anyone know why this may be?

FaceBook on Mac?
Totally agree with the answers above. It must be a problem with her connection. My powerbook is about 3 years old and it only takes me a few seconds to upload a photo
Reply:I have an imac....I just got it a few months ago and it downloads the pictures extrmemly fast...it is probably her internet connection
Reply:Sounds like an issue with her network. I have a 4 year old mac and upload pix to facebook very quickly. How is the speed uploading to other photo sites and how is her internet connection in general?

On facebook, how do I change my profile to show that I'm an alum?

I just graduated college and I want to change my profile from saying, "[Insert College] '08" to "[Insert College] Alum." I can't see to figure this out. Any advice?

On facebook, how do I change my profile to show that I'm an alum?
Edit Profile-%26gt;Education I believe.

If it is a School that has a Facebook network(bigschool) it will ask you to enter your school email address(email your school gave you) for verification.

Not all schools have a network but I think you can still enter school info manually under edit education info.

Facebook question!?

so you know on your profile near your name how it says network and then you put in your highschool or college and then next to it the year u graduate? well how can i change the year? thanxx =)

Facebook question!?
Simply select the network of your class year, and by the way you cannot change yor network more than once, you'll have to wait 60 days if you want to change it again.

I think you can be in more then one network at the same time but of different categories: "workplace, region, high school or college"
Reply:Go to profile, edit. Then click education. Click the drop down menu and change the year.
Reply:It's amazing you've gotten this far in life...

Facebook password reset?
You can try the link again. Otherwise, you have to send an e-mail to info@facebook.com from the email address you are registered under. You have to write your e-mail address that you signed up with along with the word password at the end of it in the subject.

For example: username@domain.com password

haha, I have seen this said so many times and quite honestly, I don't see a difference in maturity level between college students and 15 yr olds.... so I don't see what the big deal is.
Reply:I liked it better when it was just college students. It felt like something exclusive and special. Still though, the features that drew me to facebook are still there and I like the applications.
Reply:Yeah. I was not familiar with it at all until a New Orleans evacuee started attending my school a couple of years ago and told me about it. I guess it took a while to get to my smaller town. I was checking it out today but it does not seem to be very entertaining. Kind of boring actually. When I was introduced to it, I was also under the impression that it was geared for college kids.
Reply:I totally agree with this. Now, I don't mind people that are older being on it, but when they let high school people and younger on it, it lost all value. It was actually a social network for older mature people for a while. It was nice. I had facebook for my college friends and Myspace for my non college friends. Now I rarely use Facebook.

Facebook - how can I display all my friends instead of only the friends in my network?

Others have asked this question but the response provided has always been to remove the network from your profile (which I dont want to do). You can see all your friends if you join a 'regional' network but not a college one.

Facebook - how can I display all my friends instead of only the friends in my network?
I believe you just go to friends on top of the menu when you log in and click 'all friends' in the show option at the very top.

Facebook - trying to locate people?

if you trying to find a friend and you do not know their high school, company or college can you find by their name only ??? Cannot find it at all, have asked two questions prior.

Having to answer to make up my points for asking now .

Facebook - trying to locate people?
All you have to do is put their name in the search field. Depending on how common their name is, you mat have a few results to sift through, but their picture will be enough to confirm whether they are who you think they are.

If there are profiles that don't have pictures, have a look through the persons' friends to see if there are any mutual acquaintances there.
Reply:If you just type in their name it will come up. However, you need to enter it the exact way that they did.
Reply:i would presume so.you can on Friends Reunited.
Reply:keep looking
Reply:You can search for the person with their name, but it could come up with other people that have the same name, on facebook theres a search bar, you just type their name in and it comes up with people

Facebook question?

Ok so i'm in my college network (stockton) and i graduate this december 07, but it just changed all of a sudden from network: Stockton 07 to Stockton Alum, why did it do that and how do i change it?

Facebook question?
Because it assumes you're on the American school system and so if you're class of 07 you would have graduated this summer when school finished. I'm not sure how you can change it, sorry. Maybe you could try unjoining the network and then rejoining but putting 08 this time?

Registering for Facebook?

I don't understand the section where it ask for your e-mail and it tells me to enter my college or alumni e-mail address? I just registered for classes today at my university's orientation. I put Undergrad under the I AM section of registration. WTF is a college or alumni email? And wtf is alumni lol. sorry for being so str8 forwardddd.

Registering for Facebook?
your school should give you a email adress..... thats what you use... as far as a alumni.... thats someone that has graduated
Reply:You don't know what an alumni is? Good luck in college.
Reply:You don't need to enter ANY information if you don't think it's necessary, which it really isn't

Just put the basics in there to start with and add more later if you think it's useful!

People don't need to have 4 email addresses listed on the same page, if they want to contact you they can do it through facebook itself, or just one email address.
Reply:that's like if you have an email through your collage for example: jessicab@wmich.com that would me my name with a college Western Michigan University, if i had an e-mail through the school's browser, and if you don't just leave it blank
Reply:You don't need to put that. I don't have an email for my college. I just used my yahoo and I got a facebook account.
Reply:You're supposed to use the email your college gives you. Alumni means that you graduated from that school...

I need help on Facebook! It says my account is going to be disabled... please read:?

"Please Read This!

Warning! Your account will be disabled very soon if you don't take action!

You must get confirmed by another person at Ladies' College (Colombo, Sri Lanka) or your account will be disabled.

To get confirmed, send a friend request to any people you know on the Ladies' College (Colombo, Sri Lanka) network. We will ask them to confirm that you do attend Ladies' College (Colombo, Sri Lanka).

If this is not the high school you currently attend, please transfer to the correct network here."

What's that supposed to mean? It came up yesterday, but I never joined that group! I don't even know what it is.

And when I go to the page where it says to change the network, it wont let me.

I took that screen shot, and you can plainly see that there's nowhere to click to get out of the group.

Any suggestions? =(

I need help on Facebook! It says my account is going to be disabled... please read:?
try and join another network like a city or something. maybe another high school and get confirmed by one of your friends... hope that helps
Reply:it's not about a group you're in, they just need to know that you are really from that school. If you're not, they don't want you to be on facebook saying you are from that school. So you have to either prove that you have friends from the school, by having someone that attends there add you as a friend, or you have to say you're from somewhere else, by joining a regional network instead of your school network.
Reply:I had the same problem. You can join your city's network and someone can clear you that way.

Hope this helped.
Reply:Sucks...same thing happened to me...you're going to get disabled, they did it to me. You're supposed to join some kinda network supposidly, I didn't know this, yatta yatta yatta, basically...they're shutting you down. You can try to appeal, but they shut me down, hope YOU can appeal.

Facebook vs myspace why should you choose facebook?

I feel like i need a drug test just to look at someones profile. I remember adding someone and i had to wait untill they added me but first i had to enter in the security code then only look at a simple picture they can look at my profile then decide i just canceled my account after that...lol not worth all that when on myspace i can find out about a person before i add them as a friend...so if they are insane they wouldn't k now what college i went to or high school. and company i work at....its crazy. the only good thing i got out of face book was seeing some old friends.

Facebook vs myspace why should you choose facebook?
Well, I completely know where you are coming from. I hate that on facebook you need to send them a Friend request before you can even see their picture any bigger then a pennie. I think that, that is for sure one of facebook's biggest defaults. But keep in mind that that is a personal choice, like on myspace how you can block it, and make your profile private. To undo that though, is a hassle, and most people do not even no that you can. But, I had myspace for about 2 years before I got facebook, and I was always against getting facebook, until my ex-boyfreind made one for me. Then I realised that facebook is way cooler. lol Myspace is more music related, and for bands to promote themselves, and for little girl groupies who want to talk to them. I found that facebook has a larger group of my friends, and that it is much easier to find people. Because on facebook your main screen name is your full name, instead of on myspace how it can be anything, so its way easier to find a person that way. Also i like how it shows what Friends you have in commen with people, and how their is an option to see wall to wall, so you can follow your conversations, or someone elses. I think that i was on the same page as you were back in the day, but after a while, I officially switched over to facebook, and have been addicted ever since. I really think that you should give it another shot. Do it!!! : ]
Reply:I like the privacy you get from facebook. Also, I like the webpage layout - it looks nice and clean. I can't stand myspace because people don't understand that black text on a dark busy background is annyoing to read. Also, the amount of bots I hear are on it ... is rediculous.
Reply:myspace i think is more for bands and promoting.. facebook is more for talking and interacting with your friends.. i choose facebook over myspace any day.. and i have them both
Reply:Facebook is nice because you can find some of your old friends along with makings plenty of new ones.

Myspace is nice too. Both are good sites. You just gotta have good judgement and be careful on what you put on there.

good luck!

=]
Reply:I have both, but I prefer facebook because users have fewer opportunities to customize. I HATE HATE HATE stupid sparkle graphics, animated backgrounds, and unreadable text that is so common on myspace because people have no clue what looks good... (Did you know that you can't read dark text on a dark background? Who knew!!) Luckily, most of my myspace friends are mature enough to have a profile that is readable and doesn't make my computer chug.

Also, the hijacking issue on myspace is really annoying. As far as I know, this isn't happening on facebook... yet. But, in general, you get less spam.

And the privacy is a big plus for those who don't just troll around looking at random profiles. On facebook, if you have a question as to who someone is after they send you a friend request, you can always send them a message! Only add those you know, and you will not have any psycho friends! If you're concerned about someone knowing where you go to school, simply sensor the information you give out and don't join a network!
Reply:well truthfully facebook is for younger people whose parents don't allow them to do stuff like that.See Facebook is 35 times safer than myspace so parents allow their kids to go on facebook and not on myspace because well its just not as safe....Well I hope I helped ya bye!Oh by the way if (this is for anyone reading this)if u r a kid under the age of 15 then I would suggest facebook well see ya!!!
Reply:Well if you are "that guy" who spends more time interacting with people on the internet than they do in real life (just like yahoo answers!) then well go for myspace, because you can lurk people, you can better personalize your profile... but if you realize that it is tedious to spend so much time on either of these sites, but still want to be able to keep in contact with friends and see pictures that people post, get Facebook.

What should I tell him??

Hi everybody!

When I was in highschool, I had a really hard time with a certain group of guys. It all started when I dated one of them in 10th grade. For no reason at all, all of his friends disliked me, called me names, and basically made me feel like I wasn't worth two cents. They gave HIM a hard time for dating me and that was basically how our relationship ended. All through the rest of highschool, they picked on me and bullied me...for no reason at all! Anyways, I am currently in my 3rd year of college, and one of those mean guys found pictures of me on my college facebook (I've physically and emotionally changed a lot since then). He's sent me a ton of messages telling me how "beautiful" I am and telling me he can't believe it's me. At first, I thought it was a joke...or maybe he's changed since then and was feeling bad about how he used to be... but now he's actually asking me out. I'm not really sure how to take this...if I should forgive him...ignore him...what do you think?

What should I tell him??
Tell him yes, set a meeting place, and then blow him off. Don't show up. When he calls to see where you were, tell him you forgot. Set another date and do it again.

That should make him feel like a real loser, like he did to you in highschool. What a jerk.
Reply:When you first see him, if you decide to meet him, that is, then act very skeptical. I'm sure you'll manage that. And let him know through your attitude that you still have not forgotten the years of torture you have suffered. If he apologizes(Sincerely) then depending on you, perhaps you'd like to give him a second chance ;)

Good Luck
Reply:ignore him.....
Reply:the past is the past if guy is a jerks give him a hard time, but if you find him attractive and think something could happen give it a shot. But now you know that your hot so you can just find other guys to date.
Reply:Take it as a request from a guy who is so superficial that he could never see beyond his own shallowness.

Can you spell immature? Tell him to take a hike and go fishing in another pond.

Best.
Reply:Forgive him and MOVE ON. You can't seriously be thinking about dating a guy who had no respect for you because of the way you used to look, can you? He obviously is only attracted to you because of HOW you look. If he couldn't give you the time years ago, he's not worth it now. He sounds shallow.
Reply:People do grow up, butI would find out what the peoblem was before.
Reply:To error is human, to forgive is divine. It's not easy to forgive, but when you do, it is an amazing feeling. My girlfriend recently broke a promise she made to me, and I didn't get all pissed off, she apologized and asked for my forgiveness. So that is exactly what I did, forgave her, no questions asked.

Adding him on facebook after only having email conversations??

I really like this one guy and would like to get to know him better. I emailed him out of the blue telling him that my brother knew him and that I wanted some info regarding colleges. He was very polite and told me that he was happy to answer any of my questions. We had a two-way going, but then I ended it by saying that if I can ever return the favor in some way that he let me know.

I haven't heard from him since and I really want this to move forward. Do you think that from his emails there might be a chance that he likes me?? And if he's not even thinking about me like that, do you think that by adding him on facebook that would maybe get him to notice me?? Or is it just too creepy to first of all be emailing him out of the blue and to now be adding him on facebook?? Please any info would really help!

Adding him on facebook after only having email conversations??
If I understood well, you let the ball in his court, to see what will happen ... Well, maybe he had some other stuff and problems to think about, and it happens easily to forget to contact a girl. That happened to me, a lot, you have no idea. That can be because you have other interests in life, other goals, or because you have already lots of friends to talk with, or because you try to seduce other girls. There are so many possible reasons !

And you know, even if you enjoy writing emails to a girl, at some point, you can get discouraged and don't feel the necessity to insist. Yeah, because it is highly probable that the girl wants only some help/informations, that she has already lot of friends (probably a boyfriend), therefore most of the time, I help/chat and that's it.

The communication was two-sided, that's a good point, but I guess that it didn't really evolve towards a more personal communication, and stayed superficial. I admit that I would have probably done like him, you know, well mainly because if someone comes to you in saying "I want you to help me for that, or that information", well my reaction is to help the person, and not try to annoy her by imposing a communication/friendship, she didn't want.

Well, is that so creepy to add someone on facebook ?! I don't think so, if you want to give him some signal that you are a bit interested by him, that's a good idea. In my opinion, it is similar to msn, there are lot of people there who are not really my friends, I don't attach any importance who and who is not on my list. What's important are the persons you are talking to, and with who you want to construct something. after, simple chats on facebook, msn, myspace, whatever...

To my mind, that's a good idea, you signal your presence, and maybe he will react or not, you don't know. A good technique (but it is tough) is also to know what are his passions. For example, if he plays guitar, you can ask your brother if he know some guy passionated of guitar, so that you can talk (IRL) to the guy and discover. Or, if he is very gifted in mathematics, you ask him if he can help you for some tricky exercices. It is an idea to cause a meeting with him. Or you may find if he takes to a party you can go, or things like that, you know. Plenty of opportunities, I am sure.
Reply:NO.just because your brother likes him doesn't mean you will.guys change

Would it be weird if I told this facebook girl that I think she's cute?

This girl friended me on facebook. We're the same age but we have never gone to school together and we now go to different colleges. I've never worked with her and I have definitely never met her. I noticed that we have several friends in common so i'm thinking that she may have accidentally added me as a friend when she meant to friend someone else. This happened a couple months ago but I never got around to asking her why she friended me. The thing is, I think she's kind of cute. Is there any way of telling her this or would it be weird if I told her I thought she was cute?

Would it be weird if I told this facebook girl that I think she's cute?
nah it's fine. just say "you don't know me but you're really cute/good looking/whatever".
Reply:She may see it as Cyber Stalking!!
Reply:No, its fine.... Long as your not cybering with her, if you are you got issues.

Myspace and facebook questions...?

what do you think about security on myspace and facebook? what about bullying? do you think online bullying should be illegal? what about colleges or potential employers using profiles as a way to find more information about, even if it's bad? do you think this should be allowed?

Myspace and facebook questions...?
yeah with the whole bullying thing you can block the user...

and if you were really looking for a job i think that you shouldn't worry about what's on your profile because, you should know what's appropiate and what's not...

%26lt;3.
Reply:I don't think it's a problem. If you're getting bullied, get offline or block that person.
Reply:I think when you make that profile you are putting yourself at risk no matter what. The internet is extremely public

Would you be mad if your close child hood friend didnt invite you to her college graduation?

I knew my friend since grade school, in high school i switch school but we still kept in contact. She moved out of town but came back sophmore year of college. We started hanging out even more when she did. Everyone knew we were close. She was set to graduate this year but I didnt know any info about the graduation location, time, date. She texted me 1 day saying she wanted to go clubbing friday, she asked me cuz i know people to get us in free. Not knowing this was the so calI graduation party i said no because i had prior engagement. That Friday i text her, only to find out she was at her graduation. Later that day she post up the pics on facebook where it showed her having graduation dinner with friends that she spoken to 4 weeks prior to the graduation.I asked her why wasn't i invited and she made up these excuses about it being too early and too hot. I got mad bcuz i wasnt invited to none of the grad festivites except the club bcuz i can get her and the others in free

Would you be mad if your close child hood friend didnt invite you to her college graduation?
not much of a friend as u thought huh?

don't be mad be glad, you didn't have to buy her anything and didn't have to spend money going to a club with her.she sounds selfish,

think of it as her loss not yours
Reply:Yeah, I would feel used, too.

Maybe she isn't as good a friend as you thought she was.
Reply:I would be very mad, but it sounds like she and her friends were using you, lose all contact with her.
Reply:i would get very mad. obviously she is not a friend.
Reply:To you it may seem like you guys are really close but to others they're there for a bit but they're closer to others.

Always numbers can be restricted and even though you think you're #1 you might just be #25
Reply:i would be disappointed that my friend didn't invite me to her college graduation. that's a big step for someone and i would definitely want to be there. but if my friend invite me there, then she might not want me to be there.
Reply:I do get mad for a while. But then again it had been done. Don't let things like these break your friendship. But if she really do it to get rid of you. I think you should think back if you really want to still be her friend.
Reply:i would super mad...but you have other friends so dont worry about it
Reply:Wow, I would be very angry. I don't think it's very nice of her not to tell her childhood friend about her graduation party, especially if you still kept in contact. The way the world is now, people really aren't friends for that long.

And on top of that, she only asked you to go clubbing with her so that you could get her and others into the club for free ?!?!? Well let me tell you that is not a friend at all, and you really should talk to her about it, because not getting it out isn't going to help.

Good luck, I really hope this doesn't ruin your relationship with her, but you still have the right to be angry.
Reply:no bcuz it's not that big. you guys can hang out whenever you guys want and what if she wants to save a time for you guys to talk or like shopping.

Calling All Women, Please Answer Question (please be at least college age to answer)?

So this is whats been going on. My girlfriend and I broke up around a month ago, she said she was too busy with life (both in college, shes taking way too many hard classes) she also lives an hour away. We dated for going on 6 months. See it wasn't a messy break up but we didn't talk for a week or so. We began talking every couple days and she got frustrated with it, so we stopped talking, 2 days later she text's me saying she sorry. we continue to talk once every two days. Today she wrote a response to something on my facebook saying "You read my mind" then I Im'ed her later and she said "I Miss you!!" and she had to get back to school work but promised we would video chat (like we used t) later on this week when school settles down. We will be spending 4 months with each other starting in middle of may at a job where we will be seeing each other 24/7 (camp). I am still in love with this girl, does she still have feelings for me? I am hesitant to ask since i dont wanna push her away

Calling All Women, Please Answer Question (please be at least college age to answer)?
It sounds like she still has feelings for you, but needs a little space... both for school and to just figure things out.
Reply:She broke up with you because she was busy with school? And you only live an hour away from each other? Am I right about this?...okay...

I'm only going by your mail. I'm sure the situation if more complicated than just this, but it sounds to me like she is a very very confused girl. That is hardly an excuse to break up with someone you've been with for almost half a year, especially if you have deep feelings for them.

I would want you to stay optimistic about this relationship, because anything is possible, but it seems to me that once your four months is up and she goes back to school with all of her "hard classes" again, that you will see the same cycle happening again.

I'm sorry to say that it doesn't sound that she loves you the same way you love her; considering the circumstances that you stated. But let that 4 months play out and see how it advances. People tend to mature over time.
Reply:it does seem like she still likes you just casual ask her or look for signs then ask her if you dont ask you will never know ( i am not a colleage age but very close )
Reply:Dude she sounds like DRAMA! Give up on her and act like you are moving on. If she wants to be with you make her earn you. U are at an age where you are over high school bull----. I am sure there will be plenty of other girls on campus for you to date.

Ask yourself this question...is She is worth it. Know she may keep playing these games with you if you let her. Stand up for yourself and say... I am over it. Don't be a door matt anymore.
Reply:well she obviously at least still wants to be friends with you

as for if she wants to date you again, there's really no telling for now. all you can do is wait and see how things go. working with her soon could really provide your answer as to what her feelings are but i wouldn't have a talk with her about it just take it easy and let things happen
Reply:well u cant really tell but see how it goes at camp. from what u wrote i dont really think she s like madly in love but when u get 2gether see how she acts but 2 me she just seems like a friend. so dont hesitate with her like take things slow but if she ends up liking u, then u should see the signs and go from there. but just dont rush things cuz then u might scare her so 4 now dont hesitate and just chill.

How interested is she? We're both in college...brief library encounter?

So I meet a new girl in the library elevator and say a quick hi and move on. We're both in college. I'm laying on a couch and the same girl walks by later and I call out to her. Then she walks up to the couch im laying on to say hi. I told her I forgot her name and then I'm like "so do you remember my name?"

And shes like "no." So I say, "oh, well thats too bad. I guess now you'll never know!"

And shes like "but i have to know!!" And then from that point on I just tease her for a minute. And she kind of giggled the way through the convo.

But she really was in a hurry so she walks away to study. I pop open my laptop 15 minutes later and she's already sent my a facebook friend request.

Anyways, girls, how interested is she? Keep in mind, she is a REALLY REALLY outgoing girl so thats why im confused.

How interested is she? We're both in college...brief library encounter?
shes definetly interested.. it she wasnt she wouldnt have added you so quick for sure.

Am I a loser because I didn't go away to college?

It seems like everyone in my class went away somewhere except me. i go to the community college. I don't know what I want to do, and I never liked the idea of dorming. I'm not a big drinker and I think it would just be a bad match. Usually it doesn't bother me that I didn't go away, but I was just browsing facebook and saw that tons of my classmates are in big universities..

Am I a loser because I didn't go away to college?
Nope. Doesn't make you a loser. You have to do what's right for you, based on all of your factors. And you have to take your time figuring out what you want to do with your life. You're doing fine.

Try to get out of the habit of comparing yourself to everyone else, though. It will always lead you down the path of fear and self doubt, and there's nothing good down that path. All you have to do is visit one of your "away to a big university" friends for a weekend, and chances are you'll find solid confidence in your own choice.
Reply:You are not a loser. You are an independent thinker who chose the continuting education option that suited you, not someone else. If you are happy, the decision is right.
Reply:Going to a "big university" is just a myth of guaranteed success. Just think, not all of the greats came from university. You can't change the way you are- it's not in your hands.
Reply:When I graduated hig school I had no idea what I wanted to do. I went to community college for general studies. Boring so I dropped it. Went back for childhood Edu. Lost interest, dropped it. Finally went to Branford Hall Career Institute. Got a cert. in medical billing. I now work in a bank. Still finding out what I want to do. I hate drinking and partying. Most of my classmates either went to college or are married with multiple children. The losers are the ones who don't try. You tried and are happy with where you are. So did I. Not to mention you have 2 planes to travel. I'm afraid to fly. I still don't consider myself a loser and neither should you.
Reply:NO! put it this way. do u LIKE learning?! do u WANT 2 spend a couple of years extra learning when u could be on kickass road trips, playin instruments gettin famous?! didnt think so. ur SOO not a loser. honestly id say the losers r those freaks LEARNING! yes my spelling is good and i am articulate arent i... heheh XD
Reply:What wrong with being you? You do not need to be like every one else. Just be happy being you and your not a loser
Reply:Going away to college isn't all about drinking and finally getting away from your parents. It's about getting away from where you grew up, meeting people from other states/countries, encountering new ideas. If you can do that from home, great. If not, you may be missing out on the whole college experience.
Reply:No, it's fine, a lot of people don't move away. I think you made the right decision and can get just the same education where you're at.
Reply:i've asked this myself. we're on the same boat but i go to a private college. i'm not a big drinker either. if you feel it's right for you, then don't be insecure. and if you think you're a loser, then as long as you're a happy loser, don't worry too much about it.
Reply:... why does the big drinker thing have anything to do with college? No one forces you to become inebriated. I mean, if that's the reason why you think you and college won't mesh, it's a good thing you didn't waste the money to go. Your path is your own, and if you don't think you'll benefit from some top university, that's your decision. I only have a problem with this if you stay at home all day and watch TV... you've got to be just a little more productive than that, which you are since you say you're going to a community college.

By the way, a lot of people who do go to universities don't know what they want to do. They just either pick the easiest major or go in "undeclared." Frankly, it's just a piece of paper at the end... people really don't give a crap WHAT you majored in. All they want to know is that you attended a good college. That is, unless you specifically do a major because you plan to go into that field as a career. Also, people don't have to dorm... you can do apartments... it's essentially the same cost, but you live off campus. You'd still have to room with someone to pay the bills, though. Duh. This may be irrevelant to you, but I just wanted to state these things since you mentioned them in your comment.

In the end, you do what you want. No one can dictate your life as long as you can make a sufficient income. Go get a job... how else are you paying off those loans?
Reply:no..not everyone goes to college, not even a community college, that is great that your going to a comm college.
Reply:Community college is a great way to go. If you choose to continue to a four year college you will have made quite a dent in the degree already and won't have to pay the high cost of a four year college for as many semesters. You are wisely pursuing your education and have nothing to feel like a loser about.
Reply:No one is a loser because they didn't go to college. They'll be a loser with or with out it. College is fun, but it doesn't mean you'll be a success in life or that you'll get a job. In fact of the millionaires out there, half have college degrees and half don't. I would think that being a bum with or without college would make you a loser.
Reply:Hey!

No way you're a loser! As a matter of fact, you probably made the better choice then some of your friends did!

What I like about your question is that you seem to know yourself and that you're honest with yourself! If you don't think that going away would have been a good match, you're right! It wouldn't have been.

It's hard watching your friends go away, and you wonder if you shouldn't have done it too. But going away to college isn't always the best thing. Lots of people who do, wish they had stayed home for college.

I wouldn't be surprised if you got a better education in the first two years at a community college then a lot of people do if they moved away for college. When you move away, you do have to do lots of adjusting and will be VERY distracted in a dorm. Some people go away because they want to party.

If you go to cc and stay at home during the first two years of college, you'll still meet lots of new people and form friendships, but you'll also be in a better situation to develop good study habits, which is why you go to college.

After you develop good study habits and get used to the college routine, you'll also have matured more. Then when you do transfer to another college, you'll be ahead of the game! You'll have learned how to meet people and how to have fun; you'll also know how to study and to get a good education! Everyone else will have work double time to graduate.

Congratulations on your choice and good luck!
Reply:Loser? I think not. Just look around your community college. It is full of people just like you who are pretty much undecided. Your classmates that have gone off to college have probably been steered towards a major since they were children. I took the same route as you and I have a degree in elementary education. Funny thing is that I have never taught a day in my life. I just happened to get into a more lucrative field.
Reply:No, not a loser. You're missing out on something that could be very special, but it's not always that way for everyone. You aren't ready. You can knock out all your lower division general ed courses inexpensively at your community college and transfer to a university when you are ready. You'll still be young enough to party with the big dawgs, but your college degree will cost half of what it could have. Use you courses at community to earn some scholarships for the university of your future.

You do have to get away and go to college so that you don't have such a small world view. It's ok to come back to your town, but it's not ok to never leave. There's a song: "Don't bother with the local girls." Nuff said. Good luck.

P.S., Your added details make me think this is a troll and not a very good one.
Reply:Hi there.

You definitely are not a loser. People have different aspirations in life. One does not need to go to famous college to seek approval from others or to prove that you are 'someone'. The most important thing is to be true to yourself and to do what you are really interested in. That way, your passion for your work/life can be sustained.

Maybe you can develop a career out of something you really like? It's not what kind of college you go to that makes you a 'good' person, it's more about attitude and persistence.

All the best.
Reply:Nope, do what's best for you and it seems you have so far...
Reply:If you're a loser then so am I.. but.. most people don't know EXACTLY what they want from college and change their major several times. I'd rather take extra classes because of switching majors at a comm. college rather than university because it's cheaper... by the time it's time to transfer, you'll know what you want. just picture them taking out all those loans (which i'll be doing next semester) while you're paying off classes right away.
Reply:i went to a community college and i am not a loser! and now i transferred to a university to get my degree-Bachelor- on the top of my Associates! it does help to go for a year or 2 to a community college or figure out what you want to do! then you can transfer with a lot of credits-70 is the max though-and you also can have an Associates! i did that, met my bf, was confused about my major, the school i wanted to go to, and community college provides a transitional step from HS to University. it is the in between step that makes you figure out what you want to do with your life or what you like to do and so forth! with time you will get adjusted! figure out your major while at the community college and take the classes that transfer to the most universities! and my best advice is to transfer in the fall because in the spring you will trouble with classes, room, borad, etc. if you know your major then find out the best schools that would accept you with your GPA and lastly dorms are not as bad as you think! i go to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and i live in the best dorms which are new and dorms are usually cheaper than renting an apartment! i live in the nice dorms because i put my name on the list, waited as well as because i am a jr.
Reply:You are def. not a loser and besides you are in a two year college! you can transfer to a 4 yr college or university if you want. a big university isn't just about drinking. not everybody drinks. there is soo much other stuff that happens on campus too. you don't have to live in the dorms if you don't want to, but it is a great way to meet ppl especially if you are a freshman. try not t worry about what other students are doing or where they are. do what suits you and makes you happy!
Reply:I know that it looks good to go to college. I am not downing college at all. But take it from a 42 yr old, there is NOTHING wrong with going to community college. My best advice is to get a marketable skill. This why you can go anywhere and get a job. I have seen many people graduate with big DEGREES and then cannot find a job. I am not knocking going to college but it does not make you a loser. GET A MARKETABLE SKILL.
Reply:No but your a loser if you don't graduate.
Reply:you are not a loser because you did not go away to college. The main focus is the education. If the college that you are going to provide everything that you need you should not feel bad.

when I first graduated from high school, I went to a community college. After two years, I transferred to a college away from home. The community college prepared me a little better. That was mt transitional period. Maybe later you may want to do the same. (you will get used to dorm life. It is fun :)
Reply:dont worry about everyone else. my best friends all went away for college, and i hated them for it. but it turns out that i'm the one who keeps us all connected.

everyone has a different path in life. and we all dont belong at big universities.
Reply:I like what ICYCRISSY has to say. My experience was similar. I found the community college environment to be a supportive place where I could stretch my wings and really go for it, in terms of becoming involved with a peer counseling program and meeting a lot of diverse people.

After I graduated from there, I transferred to a University which was a whole other experience, but valuable also.

Years later I returned when I knew FINALLY what I really wanted to do, earned a masters degree, and entered the profession of my heart.

The most important thing I learned from all this was to pursue learning and experience of what I was truly interested in and passionate about. In the end it works out, if we do that.
Reply:don't think like that .It's dangerous .I mean yourself is more important than the others .think about it .if you really go away form college .you probably couldn't find your dream job. they went away form college is their option.do you beyonce ?she is gruated
Reply:If you're not sure what you want to do, then starting with your local community college is great. Your experience there will help you figure out if you want to pursue a higher degree and what kind of career path you'd like to take. If you decide to transfer you have the advantage of not having spent big bucks for the first few years at a university, and you can research scholarships and programs in the meantime. It sounds like you made the best choice for yourself so be confident that you're doing what's right for you.
Reply:You are doing what is right for you. The big colleges are not for everyone. As long as you get your education and get into the field that you love then you are on the right track.

And not everyone who goes to a university will finish. Most of the people will drop out.

Stay with what is right for you.
Reply:Hey you stop talking. You're avatar is pretty, so you're not that bad of a loser (it shows your artistic abilities to find a cartoon that resembles yourself). By the way, I didn't mean for you to stop talking. It's just that my cousin is going to a community college too, and she's practically my hero. So yeah, think about the possibility that you could be someone else's hero, too.
Reply:definitely a loser. i am too.

i'm a big drinker too though.

good luck.
