Homeschoolers on Facebook?

OK, I'm home schooler on Facebook and I recently got this message:

You must get confirmed by another person at (high school) (City, St), or your account will be disabled.

To get confirmed, send a friend request to any people you know on the (high school) (City, St.) network. We will ask them to confirm that you do attend this school.

I have never even been to that school and I don't know what to do. I don't want my account deleted and I'm going to college in the fall. Can anyone help me?

*Everything in parenthesis I changed so people don't figure out where I live.

You don't have to go to a school to be on Facebook anymore.

If you have that school listed as your high school just change it. Join a different network. If you don't know how then try e-mailing facebook tech support with your question.

They really don't care if you go to a school or not, they just want to make sure you're not some creepy pedophile pretending to go to that high school just so you can see other high school student's facebooks.
Reply:Try switching to just a city network. Some have found that works. Others have lied about their age. Others have friends from that school "confirm" that you attend (yes, even if you don't go.) Yes, the last 2 are dishonest but it was a way around Facebook's insane policy to not allow people under 18 unless they are part of a network. (For cripes sake, I graduated school before I was 18!) If you are already 18, then removing your school network should be fine.
Reply:You won't lose your facebook account, you don't have to be at a given school, but you might be denied access to a group or network for that school. On teh whole, I think the system is more secure if you don't belong to a network as that is when others you don't know start seeing more of your detail, photos and activities.
Reply:Well you need to join a network with the school district you live in. They confirmed mine with my cell phone...fyi im homeschooled too
